Ugh, Iโm so tired....
Feb 28, 2024Have you been feeling exhausted lately, constantly saying, "Ugh, I’m so tired these days"?
Have you found yourself hitting the hay earlier and sneaking in a few naps this month?
No? You're not alone.
Around 3 out of 5 U.S. adults admit to feeling more tired than ever before*, and surprisingly, 1 in 3 Americans are also not sleeping for the recommended 7 hours of sleep per night**.
So, we're all worn out, yet we're not giving ourselves the rest we need. Why is that?
Sure, there are factors beyond our control like insomnia, stress, or medical conditions, but many times, it's a matter of choice. We live in a society that glorifies constant activity, where resting is viewed as unproductive. But let's face it: rest is crucial!
It's the foundation of our well-being. Lack of sleep is tied to a slew of health issues, from heart disease to depression. On the flip side, getting enough sleep leads to better health, weight management, stress reduction, and improved mood.
We know all this, yet many of us struggle to unwind. Practicing mindfulness can help us grant ourselves permission to rest and make it happen. I've found that mindfulness techniques like the body scan or Yoga Nidra help me quiet those pesky 3 A.M. worrying sessions like nothing else.
So I invite you to join me in prioritizing rest and rejuvenation this month. Let's make time to renew ourselves!
